When Pan American introduced in 1946 it's first flights for tourists from San Francisco to Hawaii, this airline poster, with the island girl lounging in the fore ground and the China Clipper approaching the island in the back ground, was the first of many travel advertising posters. The towering peaks in the background are unmistakably the silhouette of Moorea, which are famous for the Bali Hai scene in the film South Pacific.
